A unique stadium with architecture reminiscent of a noble mansion
40 kilometers from Budapest, Hungary, in the small town of Felsut, there is a unique soccer arena. Looking at it, you would not immediately realize that it is a sports facility, because from the outside it looks like a medieval noble mansion.
Since 2004 Felcsút, a town of only 1800 inhabitants, is home to the largest training center for young footballers in Hungary, named after the outstanding Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás, also known as Pancho. A few years after its opening, the center’s management came up with the idea of building an indoor sports arena for youth matches. The design for the new Pancho Arena was carried out by the architect Tamás Dobrosi and the design studio Doparum Architects.
Considering the fact that the facility is located in a small town, the developers have made it compact, but with high comfort. The stadium is designed for 3400 fans. The distance between the rows is 100 cm and between the seats 55 cm. The sports complex was built in accordance with the highest international standards.
In addition to the basic construction requirements, the architects developed a unique design for the stadium. The interior canopy is made of shaped wooden slabs resembling thickets of dense forests around the green meadow. The architects wanted the design of the arena to be in harmony with the surrounding area.
